Who we are
RCL Contracting Ltd is a Hastings contracting crew that does the outside of buildings: concrete, decks, fencing and landscaping. We started in concrete and it is still the core of what we do - driveways, footpaths, patios, foundations for homes, and slabs, hardstands and site works for commercial and council jobs. The decks, the fencing and the landscaping grew out of the same customers asking the same question: while you are here, can you do the rest of it too?
The answer was yes, and the business is built around it now. One crew that can prepare the ground, pour the concrete, set the posts, build the deck and put the retaining wall in, in the right order, without three different contractors each waiting for the other one to finish.
How we work
- The ground first. Compaction, drainage and footings are what decide whether a job lasts. We spend the time on the part you cannot see so the part you can see stays right.
- Straight answers. If the cheaper option will do, we will tell you. If what you are asking for is not going to work, we will tell you that too, before it is poured.
- Turn up, and say so if we cannot. If the weather or a supplier moves a pour, you hear it from us rather than working it out from an empty driveway.
- Leave it tidy. Every time.

Five things, and we do all of them ourselves: residential concrete - driveways, footpaths, patios and foundations; commercial concrete - slabs, hardstands, yards and car parks; decks; fencing; and landscaping - gardens, pergolas and hardscaping.
Where we work
We are based in Hastings and cover Hawke's Bay - Napier, Havelock North, Flaxmere, Clive and the plains - and regularly travel south through the Manawatū and Horowhenua to Palmerston North, Levin, Waikanae and the Kāpiti Coast. See every area we cover.
